Look under Lawrence-Townley. The names are two different families. The suit involved one Mary Townley Lawrence and her descendants and there was dispute about a claim made by several Lawrence branches who were reputedly not bona-fide claimants. I haven't had time yet to read all of the material, but I do know that a book about the case exists and the Mormon center in Utah has a microfilm of it. Suggest you go to your nearest family search center, where the librarian can help you order the film (which can't be taken out, but can be filed under your name and be available for you and others to view at any time).
There was a Chase family involved in the estate somehow as well. The court proceedings took place in Lansingburgh, NY, which later became Troy. I don't know yet what conclusion was reached except that my branch of the Lawrences didn't prevail and there was some talk of chicanery on the part of the lawyers. I read part of the account, but to be honest that was some time ago and my memory as to any facts would be sketchy at best. Better you get the documents yourself and draw your own conclusions.
