Hi Dawn,
So you are William Law's 4th great granddaughter from his marriage to Hannah Sills?I am his 4th great granddaughter from his first marriage to Mary Burnside.
So we are related, most definitely. Are we 2nd cousins (I don't know how that works)
Do you have any info on who William's parents were?I really don't know their names.
There was a William and Alexander on the Freeholders list (1747-17687) in Co Fermanagh from Mullaghfed, Aghalurcher Parish, who were freeholders in July 1767.
I think maybe this was William's father and Uncle. The years seem correct.
If I am correct, I think William's grandfather could have been named William Alexander Law.Just reading into the names.
They certainly had money to buy land, because William's brother John bought several hundred acres in Harrison Co in 1798.
I am just trying to piece it together. That is all I know.
What do you know?
Karen
