Joel. It is true tha a Laviolette (first name unknown!) founded Trois-Rivières in 1634. He was order to go there and set up a trading post (with garrison and fort) to intercept fur that was beeing carried from the north to the New-England posts (partly dutch at that time). He arrived on site 1634 07 04 and left 1636 04 17 probably for France.
He has no record of being married or of having children in North America. Sorry.
Laviolette is a nickname (... dit Laviolette) so it is adifficult search. There are a few individuals by the name of Laviolette in Trois-Rivières but maybe you are on the wrong track, attracted by the founder of T.-R.
You will have to be very systematic and carefull not to get carried away. There are at least 50 different families that used Laviolette as a nicknane.
Good luck.
