Laverick/Unthank families

I am trying to trace the siblings of John Laverick b.1824 at Monkwearmouth Durham. John a shipwright married Mary Gray in March 1850 at the Union Chapel? in the district of Sunderland. On the marriage certificate John's father is listed as Thomas Laverick occupation shipwright. Also one of the witnesses was Hannah Laverick perhaps a sister of John. The only Thomas Laverick marriage I have found for Monkwearmouth is in Feb 1807 to Sarah Unthank but they may not be his parents I don't know. Thomas would possibly have been born around 1785. John and Mary had three children Thomas Ralph and Elizabeth before they emigrated to Australia on board the Hastings in 1856 and settled in Ballarat Vic. I have not been able to locate the death of Thomas but he must have still been alive when John was married. Any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
