Yes, it's well known and documented that many of the French-Canadians in the eastern part were displaced to Louisiana. A priest (Father Hebert)in LA has transcribed parish registers and several books of those were published.

As the Lavergnes were from Quebec though the thinking was they weren't part of that exodus but maybe they were.

Following that thinking perhaps they desired to get out of Louisiana, the different envirnoment and weather than they were used to and the reason they traveled back to Illinois.

As for records in Marathon County during that period was early in settlement and records are skimpy.

Primarily I wanted to know I had the correct parents of the couple. Thanks again.
