Thank you very much for the response. As I mentioned in my previous query, I am researching a Lewis Davis from Franklin Co VA. He had a daughter named Martha Lavinder Davis who was born about 1800, give or take a couple of years. She was born in VA.

Now, here is where it gets difficult to follow, but your mention of CALLOWAY makes me wonder that we may have the right families here. Martha Lavinder Davis' sister, Willie Ann Davis (b. in Va 1798) married Berry Thurman, b. in VA 1796. Now in Franklin Co VA, there was a John Thurman who was the executor of James Calloway's estate. Don't know the year but according to the deed index for Franklin Co VA, it was early listed as deed book 7 page 50. Do you know if this was the same Calloway who owned land next to Lewis Davis, based upon the deed you listed?

OH, I just looked further and found the name EDWARD WILSON in the deed book with Lewis Davis, regarding the deed you mentioned in your posting. Other surnames that Lewis Davis had dealing with included Wagoner, Ferguson, Crump, Love,Franks, Richardson, Calhoun and Tuttle.

Anything sound familiar?

Deborah

Thanks again,
Deborah
