Rose Mary Goodz -
Peacefully, on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at the Portage District General Hospital, Rose Mary Goodz of Portage la Prairie and resident of the Lions Prairie Manor, beloved wife of Ron Goodz, passed away at the age of 86 years.
Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 11:00 PM with the Reverend Deacon Michael Strilec officiating.
Interment will follow at a later date in the family plot at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Rose was born on June 15, 1922 at St Ambroise, Manitoba where she was raised and received her education. She lived in Red Lake, Ontario before moving to Portage la Prairie, where she worked at the Portage District General Hospital. In 1972 she married Ron Goodz.
Rose loved to crochet, do needle point, knit, always knitting quilts for someone and loved to dance. She was a member of the Portage Plains Lions Club. Rose especially loved to travel, traveling from Vancouver to Toronto.
Predeceased by her parents Mary & Paul Lavallee, her son Don "Grant" Tyndall, her step son Ron Goodz Jr., she leaves to mourn her passing her husband Ron, her daughter Sharon (Michael) Jones, their sons Anthony and Jason, three Great grandchildren all of BC, her two grandchildren Michael and Laurie Tyndall of Winnipeg, her step-son Brent (Penny) Goodz and their children Zack, Logan, Ellinna, Gill and Zena, of Kenora, Ontario, her step daughter Shawney-Ann (Arnie) Manchuk and her children Marlin, Nicky, Ryan and Dusty Barrie, Ontario.
Friends may call at the funeral home for visitation on Monday evening, May 25, 2009 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM.
Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation Inc., 24 – 9th St S.E., Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3V4 or to the Portage District General Hospital, Foundation, 524 Fifth St S.E., Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3A8.
