My grandfather was Daniel Laughter. I've heard stories all of my life how Earl Scruggs was grandpa's cousin. He would stay for weeks at a time at my grandparents house and grandpa would help him work on his banjo playing. An older cousin thinks he is related through the Laughters. He thinks maybe Earl's mother was Esban's (Dan's father) sister. Which would make him Daniel's 1st cousin. Can anyone shed any light on this?
