James H Laughlin was my Great Great Great Grandfather. He was born 01 Mar 1806 in Portaferry, County Down, Ireland. He became a partner of the iron business of Benjamin Franklin Jones in 1857. The company was renamed Jones and Laughlin in 1861, later reorganized as J&L Steel.
He married Ann McMully Irwin and had several children including mt Great Great Grandfather Henry Alexander Laughlin (b. 12 Dec 1838) who's son Edward Reed Laughlin (b. 06 Nov 1870) is my Grandfather.
Henry was married twice and I don't know which wife is Edward's mother. I also don't know James' parents. Any information at all (if you have a source please share that too) would be a huge help.
