Yes, Peter Lauck's brother Simon was a gunsmith. See this website for photos of one of his guns:

click on Lauck family and then on Simon Lauck photos. I also find a William Lauck b. about 1820 listed as a gunsmith in 1880 census in Luray, perhaps one of Simon's children, haven't checked Beth's stuff to place him but he's not one of "my" Williams so haven't pursued him.
In my job I do all this research on families not my own, as you seem to...then it gets fun when you "meet" descendants of the people you're researching, it feels like meeting a cousin!
I can't figure out when W. Jett lived on this island since he's in DC censuses so much...I also need to come for a day or two to Winchester and other places to do more on this family...but for now the DAR's library and online subscriptions are getting me pretty far!
