I'm looking for any information on my g-g-g-grandparents, Joseph Lauber and Elizabeth Shultz.
I believe Joseph was born in Pennsylvania about 1804-1806, and married Elizabeth there. They left Pa. and headed west, ending up in Adams Co., IL. about 1835. The Laubers/Lawbers had ten children--Elizabeth, Esther E., Albert P., Margaret Ann, Rachel, Uriah, twins- Michael and George Glenn, Adeline, and an unknown daughter.
Nothing is known about Joseph's family, and I would love to knock down this brick wall.
I do know Joseph was one of the founders of the German M.E. Church in Illinois, and he lost an arm while traveling in Iowa, by the overturning of the stage coach.
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
