Linda, you should check out the version in English of Study the map. It contains Me'trienas pagasts and Kalsnavas pagasts. Your ancestors Ogrin came to this pagasts. The Ogrin name there can be traced as far back as 1804 at least. I have some difficulty with German on Raduraksti -- perhaps Alfons can complete the translation for German is his main language. But try yourself -- it takes some time to get used to it. Be flexible when it comes to spelling. For example you will see Ohgrin for Ogrin, Sallaneek for Salinieks, Latzis for La'cis and sometimes Lahz. Start with Kalsnavas [Kalzenau] pagasts, Lutheran church, deaths from 1844. On page 59 of 98 you will entry #15 for Made Ogrin at location A.K. Andrizan. A. K. is abbreviation for Alt [old][vec] Kalzenau. The farm Andricene [Andrizan] may not have buildings on it now due to passage of time but it is located close to Veckalsnava [close to Ma'rcienas pagasts]. There are two cemeteries there. There are more entries of interest to you. Study the site for contact information. Note that there you can also click on Plavinas novads. Uldis Ogrin's' lives in Pl'avin'as now. I examined some of the Kandava church records and Piltenes records. Haven't found the birth for Ja'nis Rozenta'ls in Kandava nor Anna Murnieks in Piltene but have found some relevant information. I found two marriages and two birth records. What is the Rozini relation to Murnieks or Rozentals?
