Dear John,
The information provided in your last mail gives some possibility for starting initial investigations. And the goal of them is also now known – to find some information about your aunts and the uncle.
Being a well known actor your father can be found in the Internet. For example, the site about famous people of Jelgava region
http://www.jzb.lv/index.php?1&152&command=detail&recid=1050http://www.jzb.lv/index.php?1&152&command=detail&recid=1050
informs that your father was born at 16 June 1892. This important date gives the time span for research and allows to use the site www.raduraksti.lv that presents copies of church books and other genealogically important registers. You may connect to them, register yourself and to study the inscriptions. Since 1892 the Pastors were ordered to keep church books in Russian, however.
In the book of Sesavas parish for 1892 the inscription No. 133 informs that at June 4, 1892, 10 a.m. Jeannot Schabert was born. Here I tried to transcript the Russian text of the name into analogous text in German. The parents were Kristap - the farmhost of Brinki farm and his wife Trine. The godfather of the child was Jannis Schabert. Please be not confused by difference in the dates mentioned in the church book and in the above Internet site. The dates are in the Gregorian and Julian calendars.
Now when the names of his parents are known, it is possible to check other church books. Going back year by year allows to find that at February 1, 1886 (inscription No 22) the same parents gave births to a boy named Karl. It is rather interesting that at the same page the inscription 19 informs about another Karl Schabert born 7 January by Indrik from Pumpuri farm. This Karl is mentioned also in the site of famous people of Jelgava region. He became a colonel of Latvia’s Army. What kind of relative he was to Kristap and his children is not known.
Other children of Kristap and Trine can be also found. For example, N2 for 1884 informs that at December 1 1883 Julie Lisette was born.
The book for 1880 at the beginning contains inscription 212 for 1879 about the birth of Trine Adeline at November 30, 1878
The book about marriages informs that Kristap and Trihne Graudin from Seltin (now Zelti?i) farm were married at March 13 1877. Kristap was a son of Ans (now we write – Ansis) and Anna. Kristap was 27 and Trihne 26. At the same day Kristap’s sister Lawihse was married with Trihne’s brother Kristap Graudin.
You are advised to check all church books for the period 1877-1892 to find other siblings. I assume you acquired some initial knowledge of German in Germany. However the main problem will be created by the Gothic handwriting style. You may find the Gothic letterfaces in

The raduraksti.lv site does not present church books for 1893-95. I do not think that it would be reasonable to check the book for 1896 (in Russian) because Trine was 45 at that time and the probability she gave birth to a child is not very great.
Best regards
