I found this information in my notes:
*Moses & Hannah Benyas with their 2 sons named Simon & David came to the US in 1875. Simon & David are listed in the 1910 census living in Michigan.
*Anna (Anne) Benyas comes to the US in 1902 at the age of 25 years old. In the census records Anne had lived in Keego Harbor, Michigan.
*Listed as a Jewish surname of Turkey in the mid-1600’s was Benyaes that was a possibility for the origin of the name. What ideas do you have on the origin of the name?
*My grandmother who has long passed had pictures of relatives who lived in Lithuania although she was not from there.
I will continue to look in my notes for more information and I will pass it on to you.
