Oh my God! You really are a great help in trying to finding some connections to my roots in Latvia.

I guess itīs the right guy as well since my mother showed me photos of my father with the captains ribbon receiving flowers and goblets in front of cameras in many different occasions. And there is another thing that makes it even more clear. Hiīs nickname in Sweden was always "Freddie" and thatīs probably the connection to the name "Alfreds" that he was known as in Latvia.

About the fact that many Latvians that escaped to other countries I can just agree. My father never learnt to speak Swedish without an accent. When I asked my mother about that she told me that he always dreamed of going back to a free Latvia, but unfortunally he never lived long enough to experience this.

After your latest messages I spoke to my mother and she told me that he even was a great piano player and a singer. I never knew that and his football capacities was well hidden here in Sweden.
