Hi Robert T. Thank you so much for your interest in this and possible help. The following is my friend's response (and I have not given you all the correct information - sorry about that). She says: " 1. Plocens is spelled correctly (that was my grandmother's maiden name . . . ) 2. Adam was not Helena's brother. Adam was my mother's brother so his name was Rommers. (Vera and Adam Rommers were the children of Sergejs and Helena Rommers nee Plocens). Vera was born in Pskov, Russia (Pleskava)and I presume her brother Adam was born there as well. It may also be that my grandmother was married in Pskov but I'm not sure. 3. The e-mail I sent was not to the Canadian Consulate, but to the Latvian Consulate in Pskov . . . . and predictably, I have not received any response. (and don't expect one). I understood that my grandmother's parents were called Adam and Helena Plocens meaning that my grandmother was named after her mother (Helena) and that she named her son (my mother's brother, after her father. . . Adam). " And she acknowledges that this could be very confusing. I do hope you can help her find her family or at least what happened to them and I thank you for offering to help. With best wishes Frankie Blei Notify Administrator about this message?
