Latimer/Lattimer families of New London and Montville, CT

I am searching for the parents of Samuel B. Latimer,
c. 1802 - 1863, died in Montville, CT. I have his DC which does not list his parents. Online submissions have given parents as Samuel Latimer b. 1767 and Elizabeth Chapel, b. 1756. I am in need of documentation to link Sam B. to parents hopefully for a link to Mayflower passenger Elder Wm. Brewster, if this connection is correct. Samuel 1767 is s/o Nathan L. and Jean (Lee), Nathan s/o Samuel L and Elizabeth (Hallum),and Samuel s/o Robert L and Mary (Huntley), Robert s/o Robert L and Elizabeth (Dymond). I have so far examined records at the CT State Library in Hartford and have not been able to find Sam B's parents and wonder if I am on the right track.
