William P. Tittle died in the Confederate Army during the civil war. He was in Co. H. Mitchell's 8th Missouri Infantry. CSA. He died in 1862. According to the censuses, Sarah's son, Andrew Monroe Tittle was born in 1865. Sarah married Jesse Thomas Fuller in 1868. I believe that (before they were married), Jesse Thomas Fuller might have been Andrew Monroe's Tittle's father and Sarah gave him her own married name, Tittle. My personal opinion. Could be wrong.

"State of Missouri, County of McDonald. In the claim of Sarah A. Fuller, wid. of Jesse T. Fuller deceased, I can state that I saw William Tittle, the claimant's former husband, at Clarksville Arkansas. I saw him taken in to the prison with his legs chained together. Also I saw him taken out by the gards and started to the hospital with his legs still chain together. That was the last time I ever saw him. I was told he died with the chains on.
Personally appeared before me, a Notary Public, within the State of Missouri, County of McDonald, A.M. Russell, and who being duly sworn states that the above statement to be the truth. (Signed): A.M. Russell.
Subscribed and sworn before me this 7th. day of January 1898. J.M. Carnes, Notary Public."

"No. 621004. In the claim of Sarah A. Fuller, wid. of Jesse T. Fuller, Co. D. Reg. 10, Kans. Inf. act July 14, '62.
I cannot furnish evidence as to the certainty of my former husband William Tittle's death. I have been told that he died at Clarksville Arkansas while he was in the hospital. I cannot furnish evicence by anyone that seen him after he died. I was never divorced from him from the fact that it was not necessary. It was allowed by all that he died at Clarksville Ark. in 1862 and I have never heard of him since. I was told by John Harmon, deseased, that my husband, William Tittle was dead. He was just from the hospital and I have never heard of anyone disputing it." (Signed with her x mark; Sarah A. Fuller). Subscribed and sworn before me this 20th day of February, 1899. J.M. "Affidavit
I, Irena Latty, do solemnly swear on oath that I was personally acquainted with William Tittle from the year 1854 to the time he left. In the same year 1862, I heard that he was dead, and know from my own personal knowledge he never returned, and that until the present time I have never seen or heard anything more of him, and I am personally acquainted with Mrs. Fuller and that we are neighbors and have all the reasons to know that she has not heard from or seen Mr. Tittle since his departure in 1862 and I was personally acquainted with Mr. Fuller from his birth until his death and know that he was never married to anyone but Mrs. Tittle, now Mrs. Fuller, his widow. Affidavit of William Latty
State of Missouri, County of McDonald
Personally appeared before me, a Notary Public, within and for McDonald County, William Latty, age 66 years old, P.O. Jane, Missouri, states that Sarah A. Fuller was married to Jesse T. Fuller in my house on Mill Creek McDonald County Missouri on the 19th. day of January, 1868.
And I also know that the claimant, Sarah A. Fuller was married to William Tittle and the last I herd of him he was in the prison near Spadra Bluff on the Arkansas River. And I also know that the claimant Sarah A. Fuller has not married since the death of Jesse T. Fuller. And the said Sarah A. Fuller has no children under the age of 21 years.
