Thank you, again!
I am re-reading my notes regarding the North Carolina Latta information ... I think we're picking at two different branches of the Latta family tree.
I see that a James Latta acquired land near the Eno River in North Carolina as early as 1756 (Granville grant) and also acquired nearby land of John Dunigan (per sale 1806). I've been trying to identify ancestry of James Fulton who lived near Latta and see that a Samuel Fulton owned land adjacent to John Dunigan as early as 1762. So, I'm focusing my efforts on James Latta (and a John Latta) who settled in North Carolina before 1775.
The impressive Latta branch you have identified in the New Castle-Wilmington-Rising Sun-Oxford area are significant educators of the period but, apparently, did NOT migrate to North Carolina.
The North Carolina Latta settlers (1750s) may have originated in the PA/MD area you have identified. While I've identified five separate Fulton households taxed at Nottingham Twp of Chester Co. PA between 1726 and 1745, I cannot find the key record that proves a connection to Samuel Fulton of North Carolina in 1750. If I can prove that James Latta of NC (1750s) came from Nottingham Twp, Chester Co, PA, I may be able to advance my research.
Again, thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge. You've encouraged me to review the Latta family and reconsider this possible avenue of research.
