Dear John E. La Tourette,
I have read with great pleasure many things that you have written about your research on Jean Latourette and Pierre Peiret. One I read on-line gave great detail about Pierre and Jean's escape from France, going to England, and subsequent settling in New York City.
I beleive I am descended from Pierre Peiret. His wife's name in the Baird book was given as Maugerite de La Tour. Now I am wondering if it was really de La Tour or could have been Latourette, since Baird has other errors that you found with regard to the original starting point from France of Pierre.
I do not read French, and am not certain that I could find the original marriage record for Pierre and Maugerite.
I did notice in a Schenectady County Historial Society Newsletter Vol 51, No. 9-10 that you had gifted their library with a publication about Jean Latourette and Pierre Peiret Huguenot Regugees. Is this book available for purchase somewhere, and does it include the detailed information about their flight from France?
