Hello David Cazalet: Please excuse this delay in responding to your questions. I was out of the country for a month. I attempted to answer your questions and post awebpage address for you to examine. However, the address is several lines in length and it would not post correctly on this format. My e-mail address is [email protected]. So if you send me a message I will send you the webpage address and some comments.
I find that the names Cazalet and Cazalot are being studied currently in what was the Bearn area of France by contemporary genealogists. The webpage gives the names and contacts for these genealogists by surname studied, so perhaps you can get some help from those sources.
Relative to signatures in the Registers for St. Esprit, there are available photo copies of the original entries at the temple office on East 60th St and at the NY Historical Society. If you are able to go there, you could arrange in advance to see the documents. For what can be seen at the NY Historical Society, see John A. F. Maynard, The Huguenot Church of New York, 1938 , pp. 12-13. That would be the best site, since they have the 11 photo copy documents of the temple cataloged and there are librarians to assist, whereas at the office on 60th St there is only a part-time secretary.
