Don't worry too much about the dates, because my father was just guessing at the date of the marriage. In fact, I believe he had Mary Caroline Henry's birth year incorrect; he stated it was 1806, when her obituary stated it was 1809. So if my father was guessing the date of marriage based on his thought that Mary Caroline was probably about twenty years old when she married, he could have been off in more ways than one. That would have placed Isham at age 26, and that's plenty old to marry. I believe that she would have named her oldest son John, not only after Isham's father, John B. Latimer, but also after her own father, John Henry. Yet, a stillborn child is still a possibility. Have you ever wondered what the A. is for in John A. Latimer's name? The only thing I can think it would be is Alexander, for Mary Caroline's mother, Ann Alexander. I'll help you look, to see if I can see what became of John A. Latimer in 1860. It's always nice to meet a new cousin! I have loads of stuff on this family, especially on the Henry side. Cheers, Donna Jean Notify Administrator about this message?
