Seeking information on the Lathrop-Stanford family of Albany, N.Y. Lathrop family related to family of Leland Stanford, born in Town of Watervliet in 1824, became Governor of California and founder of Stanford University.
Stanford family dedicated two stone plaques in the Cathederal of All Saints Episcopal Church at Albany, N.Y. They read: "To Josiah and Elizabeth Stanford in Loving Memory by Their Daughter-In-Law Jane Lathrop Stanford 1888."
Also: "To Dyer and Jane Ann Lathrop in Loving Memory by Thier Daughter Jane Lathrop Stanford 1888." Also two stained glass windows by the Stanford family. Any relatives of the Lathrop-Stanford families, please contact Kevin Franklin, Historian, Town of Colonie, N.Y. at the e-mail listed on this posting. Thanks.
