I would like to invite you to join the "Lastinger Ancesters Research Group" on Facebook. (use your search function.)

I am thrilled to announce to you that I have completed the “Lastinger Roots” project that I have been working on for years! I have compiled a Double-Duty DVD that contains the following:
1.       A 46-minute video of our trip to Langenaltheim, Germany, the birthplace of the original immigrant to the U.S., Johann “John” Lastinger. You will see the streets of the village, visit the rock quarry that constitutes the town’s major economic interest, and meet Ludwig Lastinger, the only remaining Lastinger in Langenaltheim.
2.       A 15-minute video of our visit to Ebenezer, Georgia where Johann and Barbara settled in America. You will see the same church that they were members of and meet the current pastor. You will also visit the town cemetery.
3.       A 5-minute video of Joy and me and the work that we do today.
4.       A ± 1200 page genealogical record of the descendants of Johann and Barbara (over 9,000 names) up to the present day, including (wherever available) the source of the information.
5.       A shorter version of the genealogical record which does not list the sources. It’s easier to read and search through.

This has been a labor of love for me; I have been working on it since the early 1970’s and I would love to get a copy of into the hands of every Lastinger in America. I didn’t do it for money; I did it for the love of the hobby and my pride in my German heritage. I wish I could give a copy to every Lastinger, but economic costs make that impossible. HOWEVER, I will send a copy of this DVD to anyone who sends a donation to help defray the production costs. I suggest a minimum of $20, but I will accept whatever you can afford to send. It’s not about money; it’s about pride in our heritage. As soon as I receive your check or money order, I will send you the beautifully labeled DVD. You may send your donation to:
