I am researching the Lasley (Lashley) family who moved from Orange County, NC to Lawrence/Maury County area of Middle Tennessee about 1840. My g g grandparents were Thomas Whitted and Peggy Lashley but we don't know who her parents were. I suspicion that her father was Thomas since a Thomas Las(h)ley and Catherine, we assume Pickard, were living in the area. If this is Thomas Las(h)ley Jr. then he is most likely Peggy's brother with Thomas Sr as their father. The Lashleys, Whitteds, and Pickards all settled in the same area where Maury, Lawrence and now Lewis counties met.
