Joyce,

I don't know what the connection is but I am sure our families are related. What I know about my family starts in Stokes County, North Carolina with Joseph born about 1798.

Joseph married Nancy Gentry on December 9, 1813. They
had six children:

James Wilson June 8, 1816 (my gg grandfather)
John born about 1820
Mariah born about 1822
Harriet born about 1824
Francis born about 1828
Rebecca born about 1830

I am quite confident that Joseph had brothers and sisters but I haven't identified them. I know that the Census from that era lists many Lasleys both there in NC and in adjacent states.

My other family lines start there also. In the early 1800s they started migrating towards the West. Going through Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Some went further North into Illinois and Michigan. Some went South into Alabama, Louisiana and Texas.

My families concentrated in Bradley County, Tennessee, Pulaski County, Kentucky, Rogers County, Oklahoma and Barry County, Missouri.

The primary family lines (for me anyway) are Beck, Mizer, Lasley and Stogsdill. I have posted many pictures of my
family on AncientFaces.com. If you have family pictures that you wouldn't mind sharing, I would encourage you to post them also.

Happy Holidays, Kenneth Auburn Lasley
