Kathi,

I am afraid I got lost between what you were trying to say and what the content of the letter was. I did discern the name J. W. Lasley. James Wilson Lasley was my distant grandfather. I don't know if the person referred to is is the same person as my James. I think that there is a Virginia connection but I don't have anything to substantiate that.

Joseph Lasley born about 1798 in Stokes, North Carolina
Wife:
Nancy Gentry born October 5, 1798 in Stokes, North Carolina

Son:
James Wilson Lasley born about 1826 in Stokes County, North Carolina
Wife: Dica Stogsdill born in Pulaski County, Tennessee

Son:
Joseph Gibson Lasley born in Pulaski County, Tennessee
Wife:
Iva Walters

Most of the Lasley men were ministers.

I would certainly like to match up some of your information with my family. Sure sounds like these people are realted.
