John Leonard Laskie, Brighton, Carleton, NB

I am just starting to trace my genealogy and my great, great, great grandpa is John Leonard Laskey married to Sarah Elizabeth Swim. I believe John was born in NB? Aug 14, 1835 and married Sarah in 1870 in Brighton. I have seen some references to what I believe to be the same people with diff spellings on last name - Laskie and Laskey. I have seen same birthdates for a few of these people with both names - shows Elvin S.B. Laskie born to John Leonard Laskie and Sarah Elizabeth Siwm. And in some Canadian records I see these people listed as John Laskey, Sarah Laskey, brother Benjamin Laskey, son Elvin Laskey and son William Laskey. Not sure which way the name was switched - Laskey to Laskie??

If anyone has any info on this, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks.
Pete Laskie
