Hello Chris ~ How goes it "down under" ?? Hmmmmm, well, LASEK is not Australian for sure, so your ancestors emigrated from Central Europe. LASEK is a Polish name (see my comments on Connie's email return on this message baord). When you say "German", I betcha you are referring to your ties with the Prussian Empire with respect to your ancestery. I have seen a few LASSEK's in the old German records (the "ss" is written in script kinda/sorta like a capital "B") and is usually traced to Prussian and German expansion into Poland and the subsequent partitions that resulted. Cross-culture assimilation resulted.
