Ann Rogers (cooper) Larkin..second wife of Thomas Larkin, parents son of Ebenzezer Larkin m. Mary Oliver..son of Edward larkin of Mass. married Joanna (possibly Wilde..
whom may or may not be part of the Lord Culpepper's family of Virginia whom are Wilde family associated also, and possibly Lord Del Ware also from Va. later founder of the Maryland) Lord Ashley Cooper was also an English Proprietor
to the early founding of Colonies in North America...subject also of an area called "Lawkland", England..Thomas Cooper was an founder alos of New Jersey..I have as yet to relocate Joane Wilde immigration papers into Virgina, I have thme though around here, it's still under research from England to Massachuestts To Virginia..but in England I found one Joane Wilde married to an John Ransone...alos an varriant Lawson surname. I beleive these people are related to the Lawson family, if not of the same Planegnet family before the Lawson name came into being after the War of Roses, they travelled extensively back and forth from Massachuestts to Virginia. For that reason it's hard to know if they were "visiting" relatives or actually immigrating to this country. One such case of that...Col. Augustine Warner (sometimes later seen as Waring also)..10,000 acs.. in Rappa. and New Kent Cos. Patent book no. 4 page 110..Cavliers and Pioneers...8, Oct., 1672(page 410 land deeds)...transport of 202 persons...included were an William Rogers, Samuel Wilde, Walter Jones..John Stoner, William Gwin (Larkin?), John Locker (Larkin?), Thomas Brackwell (Blackwell's and Edward larkin family are related), both an James and JOhn Watkin ...one with the "s' and one without it, William Uggins, and many more possibly connected family of the Lawson/larkins (s) and Martins..whom all look to been earlier kin to each other in England/Scotland/Ireland areas. This was taken out of Massachuestts documents, mostly land deeds and bio's of family. Thomas Larkin m. Hannah Cordis at concord May 3, 1796, whom said died of comsuption Oct. 28, 1796, ae of 27 years old. He married second Ann Rogers(Cooper) born Nov. 29, 1801, died April 18, 1808, there were step children to this marriage, not all names were known. Parents were William and Martha Rogers. Another short file note I kept..Ann Rogers (cooper) Larkin..born July 18, 1771 Aldernay Island..off the coast of southern England..I looked that up and I find it to been an military fortress if not an place of exile for English prisoner's possibly..they were into "genetics" from which they deveolped an new breed of cattle from which they named after another close island being "Gernsey". When I went to England, I found one Giles Rogers burned at the stake for being an "witch"
and pretender to the crown...from the Rogers of Mass area.In an Rev. War pension of an William Rogers he claims his daughter "Ann" suffers from "seizures"..it's my guess she may of had eplipsey. I believe this family was the start of the "witch trials" in Massachuests when perhaps children were either immitating Wm. Rogers or making fun of him perhaps and got caught by elders and it mushroomed out of portion. Rev. Doedate Lawson prior to the witch trials had been it's minister and he went back after leaving it to find out what it was all about..and left an report. I believe his is the unknown marker in Bruton Parish church (former Marston Parish..and an Lawson private cemetary) of Williamsburg, Va. as D La..1722.That information can be seen from the Bruton Parish Church/Curchyard guide Booklet publication out of Williamsburg, Va..in Boston Library.. I found Hannah Cordis father to be Cord Cordis..and he left extensive wills to Thomas Larkin, (See "The Genealogies and Estates of Charlestown, Mass" -1629-1812) by Thomas Bellows Wyman, N. E. History Press 1982)
I wondered why..if the wife died withouth issue..or did she? She would of died in their 5th month of marriage...suposedly of consumption.
We simply don't know, but the bio leaves off that Thomas
Larkin, (Sr.) lived in Mary Abbott's house...with Ann?There is an "James" Abbott in Census early Tennsesee Census records.
In the Rev. War pension of William Rogers, there looks to been he owed money to an James Larkins (connection not known at this time/skl) for taking care of farm animals...basically cows and pasture land. John Rogers would of been the uncle most likely to have apprenteniced any children of Ann and Thomas larkin..he is seen with her son Thomas Oliver Larkin in California and in North Carolina, and in Tenneesse and in Pennysylvania records
but they were an old Massacuestts line and Rhode Island/New Jersey connected line in the parentage...most of them were into shipping lines and seafareers also and immigrating people to "America" Thomas Larkin sister (sophia Oliver larkin)married into the Lincoln family lineage...and is well represented in it. Issue of Thomas Larkin and Ann Rogers were Thomas Oliver Larkin, Ann R., and an William ..the former two it's said they died in infacy or did they? For we have an William Larkin and an Elizabeth Larkin traveling in what looks like together in Tenneessee records northward into Kentucky. Which leaves ONLY the information of Thomas Oliver Larkin and his fame of being an ambassador to then "Spanish" California for
the United States, and his home in Monterey, California
being an state Historical Home now. As for the Cordis name, I believe it to be in Virginia as "Custis" ..akin to George Washington family..and one reason I mentioned Walter Jones In this Aug. Warner immigration of people. He is another subject of legacy from his association in Williamsburg, to the Custis family and even possibly to the Jones Creeks Tenn. Larkins/Mcadoo lineage. Plus there's something to be said the Va, "Neely" family also...I have that John Rogers married an Sarah Keys, but which John his is I'm not sure of right now...I think an later generation perhaps. Cord Cordis of Boston married (1) Sarah Eveleigh (2) Hannah Jones. He has an son named Joseph Cordis..in one land deed says..To T. O. Larkin and A. childs, Lot 11, bound on cross street 130, Cordis Sreet 45; 1801. this family is also involved in an politcal coupe by an James Moore in North Carolina that involves all sides related and ends up going back into England for "justice served" also. But Mr. Crowninshield the most wealthiest man in shipping out of Massachuestts steps in to help the Rogers family. The Moore family are an second marriage of the Rogers in (Selkirk area) England. I feel the Rogers line is an earlier Lawson female lineage. If you will see an "Will" of William Rogers, you will see he mentions Bartlett, Jonas, William and and other Lawson surname's in it..as Lawson...this is Phillip Lawson's lineage/Lawson Letters Inernational, Inc.You will see that John Lawson, son of George Lawson of Va. mentions his wife Eleanor and his beloved "Sukey" or Susan..not known as wife or daughter...but we have later an susan Lawson/Simkins mentioned in the Wheeler fammily.General Mordicai Gist, Jan 1743, (died 1798) married Susan Lawson. He was the son of Dr. George Buckanan, whom came to Maryland from Scotland. He married Eleanor Rogers, daughter of Nicholas and Eleanor Rogers; J. P. and district Deputy Com. of Balitomore Co., 1727. Druid Hill Park (national park) was the home of their residence. Christopher Gist..mother most likley Elzabeth, later joined thw Rogerenes religous sect of New England. (whom I have one records of Natantial Lawson divorcing his wife Elzabeth in Mass...Nathaniel Lawson..of early "Causey's Care plantation/Va..Chirstopher was the first white american to explore carefully the Ohio River lands and N. E. Kentucky (1750-1751)..Gist twice saved the life of George Washington in the defeat of Jumonville, 1754, at the surrender of Ft. Necessity and on the Braddock Campaign. ..of course this family also goes into the Cherokee "George Gist" or Sequohyah whom founded his own method of educating the Cherokee Native Americans to read and understand English..I will close this for now...continue later on.
