Searching for Larkin(s) relatives from Nassau, NY

Hello Ruth -
I have been searching for info on Larkins in Nassau, NY.
My great great grandfather was named Frank Larkin(s). He
and his wife Lillis Thomson lived in the Nassau area - Hoag's
Corners and Alps. One of their sons, my great grandfather,
John Timothy Larkins, lived with his wife, Effie Miller in Brainard.
I have been looking for more information about Frank's family
and have not had much luck. Another Larkin researcher
suggested that he may have been descended from the Timothy
who came to Rensselaer County from Ireland in the mid 1800s.
(There was another Timothy, born in the 1700s in Rhode Island,
who's family moved to Rensselaer.) I did locate Frank in the 1880
Census for Nassau, and it is recorded that he was born in New
York, and both his parents were born in Ireland.
I have a strong suspicion that his father was the Timothy that
you referred to, but have not yet uncovered the evidence to prove
it. My grandmother, John Timothy's daughter, thinks her father's
middle name points in this direction, too.
If you have any further information about Timothy or James,
please let me know. I am always happy to share information.
