Thank you for your reply Randy. Lucinda's headstone shows her birth as 1821, so it's really hard to figure out which records are correct. It could have been any of those years. Brumley/Brimley is shown as both a male and a female in the 1850 Hamilton County Tennessee and 1860 Crawford County Missouri census records, and the dates vary slightly. I've researched this family from Hamilton County Tennessee to Crawford County Missouri, Laclede County Missouri, Wise County Texas, and various counties in Oklahoma up to 1930, including their descendants. Brumley is about the only one that I can't trace past 1860. I believe that James Dugger met Lucinda Largent in McMinn County Tennessee as a result of his brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Mattie Dugger, living there. James and Lucinda Dugger and their children were neighbors of James' cousin Benjamin F. Dyer and his family in Laclede County Missouri in 1870. It's believed that James' and Lucinda's daughter or niece married the son of Benjamin Dyer. By 1881 the Dugger's, some of the Dyer's, McCamey Largent and his family, and some other closely allied families were all in the Chico/Bridgeport areas of Wise County Texas. The Dugger's moved into Oklahoma in 1889 and the Dyer's followed sometime between 1894-1897. McCamey Largent and his large family stayed in Chico, Texas, where McCamey and two of his wives are buried (he was married 3 times). McCamey Largent and Lucinda Largent Dugger are believed to have been brother and sister. There are quite a few online records for these families on the Wise County Texas website if anyone is needing to find birth, marriage, and death records. Any information I can receive should be helpful. I'm still hoping to hear from descendants of James Dugger and Lucinda Largent, or from anyone with knowledge of a Largent, Dugger, or Dyer family Bible that might have clues to these families, especially a connection between Nettie Dugger Dyer and Lucinda Largent, or Nettie Dugger Dyer and Matilda "Mattie" Whaley, wife of Daniel Dugger. Thanks for your help. Pat Notify Administrator about this message?
