Ahh dear friend.
You miss the point completely. The issue is not one of respect/disrespect but of accurately reporting the historical facts of the family to later generations.
As for the implication that all the Largents that descend from James "Henwood" Largent are NOT Largent because the blood line is not pure is ridiculous. It is fairly clear that the John Largent in question was 'married' (although marriage documents have not yet been brought forth)3 times and produced at least 16 kids, 7 from #1, at least 4 from #2, and yet another 5 from #3.Are all the children that are not from the first wife to be subsequently written off as not Largents?
And yes.The DNA Silver Bullet.Even if it were to prove that I am not a Largent, legalities of Law provide the adopted child with the same 100% rights as if it were blood born. This I know because not only am I a Largent by birth, I am also a Largent by legal adoption by my uncle when his sister abandoned myself and sibs.
Proud to be a Largent?Yes indeed.Do I have some secret horror of being a Henwood. Not hardly!
So.
There is no disrespect in reporting fact and to the best of my remembrance no flaming judgmental comments by myself have been made in any of my postings.
With all this having been said; I am done with this subject.
I wish you well in your search.
