Here is a copy of the message I just posted yesterday on the "Larabee" Forum.
"James Henry Larabee, born in Edwardsburgh Twp Grenville Co. ON was the son of Seth Larabee, born 6 Aug 1797 USA, to Ontario before marriage to Hannah Main.
Seth Larabee's parents were Royal Larabee & Catherine (Caly) Baker (Becker) of USA, probably Pennsylvania.
I cannot find a link further back, or to any of the many Larabees found on IGI mostly in the New England States.
Royal and Caly's children were:Seth, Barny b. 1799, Betsy b. 1801, Margaret b. 1803, John b. 1806, twins Caly & Royal b. 1811, Rachel b. 1814, Henry b. 1817, Levina b. 1819, Mary b. 1822.
Do any of the American Larabees recognize this family, or have a similar naming pattern that might provide a clue for us Canadian Larabee descendants?"
Laura, it is interesting that your Seth was born so close in time to mine, but I have seen a few Seth Larabees, with the various spellings, on IGI. If you wish to compare families, let me know.
