There was a Lapp family in Cork, Ireland in 18th Century. We have a Lapp's Quay, formerly Lapp's Island , so named from ownership pre 1800.
We also had a home for old poor protestants "Lapp's Asylum". This has been modernised and replaced by sheltered housing "Lapp's Court".
I'm sure there is more info re the Lapp family in Cork. I'm not aware of anyone of the name now in Cork
