I am searching for relatives who were related to Royal LaPlante who married Victoria Lyman Fountain in the late 1800's. Royal was from Malone, New York, and Victoria was from Watertown, New York (She later changed her first name to Marian and was called Mary). My uncle Joseph LaPlante did some research on his father (Royal) who's family orignially came from Normandy, France, and found out that we are related to the Napoleon Bonaparte family. And my grandmother's (Mary's) family were related to the Iroquoi -Alongonkin American Indian tribe from upper state New York, her father was born at an indian reservation (Fort Coventry?) up in upper state New York to an American Indian girl and a French father (Fountain).
Any information on the LaPlante or Fountain Family would greatly be appreciated.
