LaPlante Family Genealogy Forum

Jess, I am sure that Eusebe and Emerance Provencher (Provencha) were my grandfather’s parents. However, information that I have from my family says that Casimer LaPlante and Henrietta Dupuis were Eusebe’s parents. Through one of the internet data bases, I found Casimer LaPlante as the son of Louis Leriger and Louise Brosseau. Louis Leriger was the son of Jean Louis Leriger and Marie Magdelaine LeFebve. Jean Louis Leriger was the son of Jean Baptiste Leriger and Marie Catherine Rougier. Jean Baptiste Leriger was the son of Clement Leriger and Marie Marguerite Roy. That is as far back as I have been able to go and I don’t really know how to verify this because I am a novice. The line from Clement to Casimer I found in a Roots search. It is supplemented with some information from the LaPlante GenForum in a message from Robert Quinnett posted April 10, 2000. I also have some information in letters to my great uncle from a man who was tracking his ancestors. Some of the information he had verified through baptismal records, but I can’t attest to the accuracy of much of what I have.
Casimer married three times and I show that he and his second wife (I think), Priscella Monet, had a son, Jean Baptiste born in 1839. Jean Baptiste married Aimee du Brule.
Can you help me straighten the lineage out? We appear to have gotten to my family tree from different roots! Thanks for any information you can share. I will be glad to add the dates and send you the copy of the descendent tree that I have put together if you think you can open it. It is in the Family Tree software.
Marilyn
