is what is known about the marine

unless he lied about his age to the navy he is too old to be yours

====
it is an unusual name and I suspect that they all may be connected by location if not cousins

Lapham, Felix b: BEF 12 OCT 1783 in Kilmington, Somerset, England
Lapham, Felix b: ABT 1787 in of Williton, a chapelry in the parish of St. Decuman , Somerset, England d: 12 APR 1814 in Haslar Hospital, Gosport Portsmouth, Hampshire
LAPHAM, Felix b: ABT 1827 in ONTARIO d: in of LAMBTON Bosanquet
Lapham, Felix b: BET 1833 AND 1835 in Kilmington, Somerset, England d: SEP 1909 in Warminster 5a 69

so I leave the connection open until more evidence is around

I have put more details in the notes I see
basically there seem to be two Felix Lapham at that time

they could even be cousins named for an as yet unknown ancestor

if the baptism of your Felix was very very late they could be one and the same
an hour with the St Decuman church books might sort these two out

before 1 July 1837 very very few births are recorded in UK

I was 14 or 15 before I was baptised C of E becaue I wanted to be confirmed like my friends
an age at death may help solve this if available for his siblings
some families had 3 or 4 children of widely different ages christened on the same day

I would like to add your link to the lapham one-name study too for the twentieth century back to at least 1901

so please send a tree

regards

Hugh W
