the book LAPHAM, privately published by Olene Lapham in 1934
has been obtained for me in Solihull Central Library from USA via the Britsh Library on the Inter Library Loan scheme
There is a drawing, of which I have made a gif , "The Coat of Arms used by John Lapham of Providence "

If you have money to spare the correct next step would be to pay the College of Arms to make a search in their very authoritive records
Price from UK £400 / $700 upwards
be warned this COA could have been invented in USA
AND
I do not know Olene Lapham's sources
IF successful the rsults would provide some common LAPHAM ancestors in England
