I have some info that cooroborates what Barbara Y. provided (AHL born ca 1789, etc.) This individual is my direct ancestor, but via a different line that Barbara's. I descend from the Ira Lapham to whom Barbara refers. Ira had several sons born in the 1840s & 1850s, but I'm not aware of the names Alexander or Hamilton appearing any time after the individual born 1789. The wife of AHL to whom Ira was born is recorded as Margaret Bethany. You may wish to contact Phyllis Kitson to inquire as to any records of other individuals named Alexendar Hamilton L. (She posts to the forum occassinally.)
