Information from the Lape family said Henry and Catherine spoke only German.I think John was the first immigrant, may have been a Hessian soldier, still working on this.
Yes I think the two Henry are the same person.Henry and Catherine Lape are buried at Wilberton Cemetery, Fayette Co., Illinois. The Cemetery is on the Lape farm. Henry build a log cabin in 1850 and in 1890 a house was builded.
Henry born Jan 12, 1794, died July 20, 1851. Catherine born Feb 29, 1796, died Jan 14, 1867. The Lape farm is still owned by a Lape.
