Benjamin Lape was born in Ohio abt. 1820. He had at least one brother Jacob. S. Lape, born about 1822. I am looking for their parents. The 1880 Census has his mother from Pennsylvania and his father from Germany. His mother's maiden name may have been Sloop. I have found his family also in Brownsville, Union Co., Indiana in 1850 and 1860. He was married to Catherine ?. They had the following children appearing in the 1880 Cincinnati census: Mary Ann age 26, Ida Jane age 24, and Minnie L. age 21. In 1860 his family is also with Mary Lape age 70, born in Maryland. I have been unable to find her relationship to Benjamin. I believe Benjamin died 2 Mar 1891 in Cincinnati. His brother Jacob was married to Amanda J. Rockwood 24 Dec 1851. They had one daughter named Fannie J.. also from Cincinnati. Any information on the identity of the parents of Benjamin and Jacob greatly appreciated.
