"Homer S. Lape, 53 years old, of 46 Maple Street, Lyons, died of a heart ailment Dec. 3 shortly after arriving at the Barber Hospital. Mr. Lape was employed at the Hallagan furniture plant in Newark. The deceased was born March 31, 1911 in the Town of Rose a son of Asher W. and Dura Tryon Lape. He was a resident of Lyons for 15 years.
Surviving are his widow, Margaret Kelley Lape; two sons, Ronald and Richard, both of Lyons; a daughter Carol of
Lyons; two stepsons, James Powell of Lyons and David Powell of Syracuse; two brothers, Mahlon of Lyons and
Asher Lape, Jr. of Clyde. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Weeks Funeral Home, 5 Phelps Street
with the Rev. Arden Morton, pastor of the Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be at the convenience
of the family in South Lyons Cemetery with Commital in charge of the Collins-Cassavino Post, American Legion.
Mr. Lape was a veteran of World War II."
