Hi
Both Lantz and Lans are old soldier names in Sweden.
Lans stands for lance and does not mean a specific occupation.
The names was given to distinguis between all the Anderssons, Johanssons, Svenssons ...

which is a database over soldiers 1682-1901, but it's not complete.
Search for names (Namn:), parish (Socken:) or Rote:, You must remember that Sweden have som special national characters, so for exampel Ballefors should be input as
B%llefors or Skovde as Sk%vde.
