I don't know if there is a connection between your Walter Lantz and mine since the information that I have on him is sketchy.
He is 1 month old in the 1870 Pittsburgh (Birmingham precinct) census.10 in 1880 (Mt. Oliver, Allegheny township). The family moved to Harmar township by 1886.The only other possible reference I have to Walter is in Mary Montgomery Lentz's obit in 1925, it is mentioned that she has a son W.W. who lives in Syracuse NY.Walter's brother, Thomas Montgomery Lantz is my great-grandfather.Their great grandfather was Philip Will (or Vill)and was discharged from the French army in 1814.I found a third cousin who has the actual framed discharge orders. Both the Lentz/Lantz and Will families are from the Alsace-Lorraine area which was part of Germany at times and part of France at others.
If you would like to see what information I have on this family since about 1850 in America, e-mail me here or at
[email protected]
It could be this Walter or perhaps another brother had a son Walter. Or maybe not.At least it gives us another avenue to explore!
