Seems this is a tough name, surely one of us will find something ONE day!
I am looking for HENRY LANTRUM but seen as LANTRON on census records of his son Joseph. Henry b. ca 1810 married MARY DEVAULT though there are variations in that spelling as well. THis information came from pension and death records found recently. Henry and Mary were supposedly born TN accord to their grandaughter as stated on Henry's sons' death certificate.
ALSO.....family history states that this name was one with the O' prefix and were Irish or Dutch. I know my gr grandfather was redhaired. Maybe that will be a clue for us all. I have found a new Irish site which is GREAT but so far have found no O'Lantron or O'Lantrum. Does anyone know what other sounds our "t" would make in Irish? For instance, does our "t" sound like the Irish "ch" or anything?
There are names at this Irish site that could fit ours but without knowing where in Ireland mine came from or when, I cannot post a query there.
The names Louise, Rosalie, Joseph, Jack, Jesse, Patrick, Cecile, Mitchell, Eugene,Magdalean, Thomas, Bryan, are some names that run in our Lantrum/Lantron line.
Also. ....my gr grandfather stated in his pension that our name was lantrum but since I have seen it on census records, none other than LANTRON, I am posting here.
THanks for any help or leads you all may lend, it might help us all!
