Any name that begins with "La" could be mine at this point! haha.

All I know is that my gr gr grandfathers obituary has his name as LANTRUM b. 1842 from Rutherford co TN. His son Joseph Walter b. 1883 TN, or IN< IL and grandchildren were LANTHRUM, none exist that I can find except our family. That is as far back as I've been able to go. Family rumour says our line was in Mississippi but that would have to be before Joseph Willard b. 1842. They also say that it was once O'Lantrum or O'Lan something, whatever it once was. I can only find the "De " part preceding a surname. Later I found Joseph Lantron listed in Williamson co TN which fit him and his wife Elizabeth 1860 census as far as name, age, location. However, I have searched for the name Lantron as well, and as a matter of fact I think the Charlotte and Thomas Lantern were Lantron's or Lanton's on the 1850 TN census, forget the county, I can get it if you need it, but prior to that I find nothing and everything keeps pointing back to the Lantern family as the 12 yr old Joseph in the Charlotte and Thomas Lantern family's age fits my Joseph Willard b. 1842. The county is right next to Rutherford where he stated he was from, this Thomas and Charlotte LANTERN line could be his line but I have pictures of Joseph Willard's son and he's not black. I have no siblings for Joseph Willard either, I mean I don't know who they are, no one I know ever knew them. Joseph Walter had a sister named Jesse who married Fred Shramm in IL I guess and they lived in Minonk where Joseph Willard lived during his middle years and later died . 2 siblings died at or shortley after birth. All appear to be named for the Grimes line, of the wife, Elizabeth Grimes dau of Jesse Grimes possibly of NC/VA. Except Joseph got his fathers given name and his mothers father's middle name of Walter. So no help in the name game.

oh well, sorry to go on and on. Hope you find something in it that can help me. I'd love to get this family linked to someone.

Good luck to us!!!!
