I am looking for any information that anyone has on an Elizabeth Lannon from the Jerseyville, Illinois area. The earliest record I have of her there is her marriage to her husband Cornelius Whelan. They were married December 25, 1856
Her Birth, I am doing some guesswork here was abt. 1840 maybe minus a few years I am not sure. Her death was, again I am guessing between 1867 - 1870 and I am assuming in Jerseyville. The obit for her last son says that she died when he was an infant:
"His mother died when he was an infant, and he grew up in the homes of relatives and friends. When he was 8 years old he came to Montgomery County."
Her son was born January 10, 1867 in Jersey County. On a past due tax list for 1861 taxes I see a C Whelan living in Burkes 2nd Addition to Jerseyville. And for bad taxes for 1865 C Wheelan in Burkes Addition to the Town of Jerseyville.
Also I have this as well:
WHEELER CORNELIUS 22 M W IREL IL JERSEY JERSEYVILLE PCT 1860 He was with Lizzie 20 and child Mary Ann, 1
Mary Ann being thierr first child this is correct. This would be her and cornelius.
So with that information it would lead to believe that maybe she died in that same area. However, I am not sure where that would be.
This woman is a ghost and an inpenatrable brick wall for me.
