Just wanted to let you know that Samuel and Etta were my grandparents. Sadly I never got to know them. Samuel died
Nov 24, 1926 in Williamson County, IL He died as a result of a coal mine accident. His wife Etta did not even last that long, she died Apr 26, 1924. She is buried in Copeland Cemetery in Bandana Massac Co. IL. Samuel & Etta had 2 children: Geraldine and Wilma. Wilma is my mother and never got to grow up with her parents. The two sisters were split and one went to live with one Aunt Bessie and the other with her Aunt Lil.

Miner Killed at Johnson City
Trip Rider at Number 18 Mine Killed at Johnson City Wednesday Morning
Sam Lannom trip rider at Number 18 mine at the Old Ben coal Corporation at Johnson City was killed while at work in the mine about 10 o'clock Wednesday Morning.
The body was taken to the Wildridge undertaking establishment where Coroner George Bell was holding an inquest Wednesday afternoon. Mine officials understood following the accident that Lannom was run over by a string of cars after falling off car while riding a trip.

Samuel was the son of Samuel B Lannom and Indiana Jackson.
Etta was the daughter of James Phoenix & Renie Campbell.
