Richard and Sybil's son David,1738-1824, married Mary Palmer in 1758. David served in the militia during the Revolutionary War and was one of the guides for Gen. George Washington at the Battle of Trenton. The book GENEALOGY OF THE EARLY SETTLERS OF TRENTON AND EWING by Eli Cooley, mentions this on p.157. HISTORY OF BATTLES OF TRENTON AND PRINCETON by William S. Stryker tells about this in Chapter 8, Facts About Washington Crossing.

I also have a Richard Lanning,1736-1844 and married to Ann Inskip, listed as their child.I think I have this wrong as I also have a Richard Lanning, b. 1736, as the son of Robert Lanning and Martha Hart. Maybe there were 2 Richards both born in 1736.Can you or someone correct me on this?
